The task
This two stage project involved the $2.5m design, project management and weather-tightness of the Science Block at Westlake Boys High School.
Our thinking
We recommended alterations to remove an existing high-risk roof, as well as converting the existing undercroft with excavation and levelling work. Key building systems and components were upgraded and an advanced rain-screen cladding system was added. New science labs and teaching facilities were also created.
The result
Our cross-discipline recommendations ensured lower running and maintenance costs for the new building. Designed for longevity and high performance, it exceeded the expectations of staff, students and the Ministry of Education.
