Hampton Jones Director Simon O’Brien is part of the BIMSafe NZ Advisory and Steering Group and recently attended the BIMSafe launch event held in Christchurch.
The group is collaborating with the University of Canterbury’s Building Innovation Partnership to deliver the three-year $1.7 million project funded by ACC and MBIE. The project aims to reduce accident and injury rates on Construction sites by integrating health and safety information into BIM Models.
The BIM model allows all project stakeholders, designers, engineers, contractors, H&S managers, and even maintenance staff to collaborate on the health and safety by design process within the digital 3D space, before construction has even begun. This information is then carried through from design to construction to maintenance and then decommission.
