Hampton Jones is proud to be providing pro bono Quantity Surveying services to the Kapiti Foodbank as they move to their new location.
To assist them, we have completed a cost estimate for the relocation and refurbishment of a portable building that will become their new home in 2022, following the identification of watertightness and resultant toxic mould issues at their previous location. The Foodbank is currently in temporary accommodation awaiting their new premises.
The project will entail the relocation of a redundant college classroom onto rented land on Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu. The rental of that land has been agreed upon for a period of 10 years. The Building Consent application has been submitted and is currently awaiting approval.
There has been tremendous local support for this project with offers of help and contributions from the Local Menz Shed, the local Mitre 10 Mega, Kāpiti Coast District Council, and the local Lions Club to name but a few.
A fantastic community effort for a great cause and we are proud to be involved!
