The task
Acting for the Bank of China, Hampton Jones has provided an initial report and interim drawdown reports for the subdivision of 4.07 hectares in Hobsonville, Auckland for Kingstone Property Ltd. This was followed by a construction budget review and interim drawdown reports for the construction of 81 terraced, duplex and standalone homes (Stage 1). Going forward this project will also contain a new neighbourhood centre – with commercial, retail and apartments.
Our thinking
As the Environmental Protection Authority Design and Resource Consent was updated during subdivision works the project was facing programme and cost risks. To mitigate this risk Hampton Jones adjusted the Development Budget and Cost to Complete, and reported to the funder, so they could undertake a prompt risk evaluation. This required excellent communication between all parties.
The result
Hampton Jones has helped the client to achieve the project under the revised Development Budget and mitigate the delays due to design amendment.
