News and thought leadership
Jonathan Stewart has recently qualified as a RICS Chartered Building Surveyor and is based in our Christchurch office. With over three years experience, Jonathan is rapidly building on experience gained through his degree and previous employment in key aspects of Building Surveying. Jonathan’s previous responsibilities have included managing refurbishment projects from inception to completion with duties in design, client liaison, preparing drawing proposals and specifications.
Last month, James Green (Hampton Jones’ Chartered Quantity Surveyor) attended The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Members’ Forum in Toronto 2018 from 8-12 July. This is an annual event bringing together leading construction professionals from all global regional hubs to represent the interests of all members.
Construction has traditionally been slow to take up technological advances and is well known for being fractured and antiquated. However, now experts are speculating that the construction industry is ripe for tech disruption, so it’s no longer about ‘if’ and more about ‘when’? Ahead of us are exciting times for the industry, with a wide range of technologies coming (and some available now) to enable more efficient construction techniques and integrated workflows.
After 12 years as a Director of Hampton Jones, James Bundy has left to pursue other projects including building a house in Northland and developing his career as a professional Director. James was a founding Director of the company who helped to drive and shape our business, and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for his significant contribution over the years to Hampton Jones.
Jeremy Blake is Hampton Jones’ Associate Director and Senior Quantity Manager and is based in our recently opened North Shore office. Jeremy has been with the company for 6 years but has been quantity surveying for over 20 years; initially in the UK before moving to New Zealand with his family in 2010.
